Figure 2 on the left displays the Red Edge Forest Health of 1997, and Figure 3 on the right displays the Red Edge Forest Health for 2016. The more red pixels, the more healthy the vegetation is. The white stars indicate the location of McLaughlin mine. Notice how the vegetation to the SouthEast displays a rebound in health, as indicated by the color change of purple to blue.

Figure 4 displays changes between the two Red Edge Forest Health between 1997 and 2016. The white star represents the location of McLaughlin Mine. Notice the red pixels immediately around the mine, indicating a bounce back in vegetation.

The above Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) images (1997 on the left, 2016 on the right) display relative abundance of vegetation. Brighter areas indicate higher concentration of vegetation.
